Countdown to the 2008 ACS National Convention

March 6, 2008 14:03 by Marvin

It is now two months and a week until the start of this year's ACS Convention in Houston, TX. By now, your church should have received the convention brochure. But in case you missed it, check out the convention Web site.

We have been holding an ACS convention since 1988, and I always tell people it is by far the best three-day training and networking opportunity available. Ryan who works in our training department calls the convention the “super bowl of training”.  Registration has already begun for the convention and here are some the classes leading in the signup counts:

   -      Strategies for Implementing Access ACS

   -      Tips & Tricks: Excel

   -      What’s Coming in ACS Financial Suite Version 10

   -      Church Tax Law: Payroll (with Gene Hill)

   -      Tips & Tricks Web Page Design

We appreciate when people sign up early so we can identify the most popular classes so they can be scheduled in the largest meeting rooms.  If you are planning to attend this year, go ahead and sign up to take care of the early bird discount (good until March 16th).

Marvin: Kudos to your continuing refinement of "Suggested Tracks" for convention classes. It's really a great packaging of all the wonderful classes offered. In the past it has been quite a job to sort through classes and try to create a schedule for the individuals our church sends to convention.

This year our church's convention budget has been slashed. Looking at the suggested tracks gives me a great basis for going back to leadership and explaining the incredible value of sending people to convention. Hopefully we can squeeze a few more spots into our budget!

Looks like it will be a great convention.
